The 2013 Indian Grand Prix, officially known as the 2013 Formula 1 Airtel Indian Grand Prix, took place on 27 October 2013 at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. Serving as the sixteenth round of the 2013 Formula One season, it marked the third and, so far, final edition of the Indian Grand Prix. The race, spanning 60 laps, witnessed Sebastian Vettel’s dominance as he secured victory driving for Red Bull, starting from pole position. Nico Rosberg followed in second place with Mercedes, while Romain Grosjean claimed third for Lotus.

Vettel’s triumph in India was significant, as it solidified his position as the 2013 Drivers’ Champion, with Fernando Alonso unable to close the points gap with only three races remaining in the season. Additionally, Red Bull’s victory secured their fourth consecutive Constructors’ Championship, showcasing their dominance in the sport during that era.

The 2013 Indian Grand Prix holds a special place in Formula One history as it marked the last race held at the Buddh International Circuit and the final occurrence of the Indian Grand Prix, at least until the 2023 season. Notably, it also represented the last 1-2 finish between German drivers until the 2015 Monaco Grand Prix, adding another layer of significance to the event.

“It’s disappointing that we won’t be racing here next year,” “The crowd was fantastic. The team spirit is incredibly strong,” .
